A Hackney resident aged 32 has been charged over the sexual assault of a teenage girl aged 16 in Hoxton, London, as reported by London Now.

Ridge Mensah, from Windsor Terrace in Hackney, appeared before Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 March and was placed on remand.

The allegations relate to an incident the Metropolitan Police became aware of in the early hours of 28 February.

The accused is due to stand trial at Wood Green Crown Court on Tuesday, 24 March.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson indicated that a man had been charged with raping a 16-year-old in Hoxton, that Ridge Mensah of Windsor Terrace, Hackney had appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday where he was remanded in custody, and that he would next appear at Wood Green Crown Court on Tuesday.
