The number 310 bus service will remain in operation across north London following a period of public engagement.

Transport for London has announced that not only will the route be maintained, but its hours of operation will be prolonged to run until midnight. This decision follows a public consultation process and an additional 12-month contract extension to enable further data collection.

The service, which was first introduced in 2024 to create a direct connection between Golders Green and Stamford Hill, will also be diverted to cover Holloway and Nag’s Head.

Speaking about the outcome, Geoff Hobbs, who heads up public transport service planning at TfL, explained that the organisation had undertaken a thorough assessment of consultation feedback. He noted that the route would be kept as part of the bus network, with operating hours being stretched to accommodate later evening journeys. He added that customers and interested parties would receive updates shortly once scheduling details were finalised, and that the route would continue to be monitored to ensure it served passengers effectively.

The amended route will incorporate stops labelled ‘R’ and ‘S’ along Seven Sisters Road, thereby providing better connections to Finsbury Park station.

The 310 route serves residents in Hackney, Barnet, Islington, Camden, and Haringey, delivering an environmentally friendly and cost-effective option to private vehicles while easing traffic flow and enhancing air quality.

The service came about after persistent calls from north London inhabitants, especially those within the Jewish community, and constitutes the inaugural direct bus route linking Golders Green and Stamford Hill.

TfL prolonged its original 12-month contract by another year to carry out a comprehensive consultation, which took place between September 1, 2024, and May 4, 2025. Any modifications to the route will become effective when the new contract commences on August 29, 2026.

Enhancements to the service comprise reduced travel times. Travellers can also anticipate improved evening options, with the expanded schedule making late-night journeys more practical.
