Shoreditch Town Hall is commemorating 160 years of operation with a single-evening entertainment programme.
The production, designated 16 Acts, is scheduled for October 9 at the Old Street establishment.
The showcase will present artists working across multiple disciplines including cabaret, clowning, spoken word, musical performance, drag, and experimental theatre.
Sixteen performers with prior appearances at the venue have been assembled for the occasion.
The evening will be guided by cabaret partnership Bourgeois & Maurice, who appeared at the venue during 2021.
The programme pays tribute to the building’s origins as a music hall following the granting of its licence in the 1880s, when it presented comedy, songs, dancing, speciality acts and social commentary.
The roster features artists associated with The Cocoa Butter Club and Pecs Drag Kings, alongside Frankie Thompson, Riss Obolensky, Fabio Lezonli, and Fanny Bleach.
Additional performers including Lavinia Co-op, theatre-maker Emma Frankland, and Operotica have also been confirmed, with further names set to be revealed.
The venue has established a track record of supporting work exploring identity and community themes.
It maintains residency opportunities and professional development initiatives for artists across different career stages.
Earlier this year, an Associate Company programme was introduced to nurture LGBTQIA+ and women-led projects, extending support to organisations such as Ballet Queer and ThisEgg.
Ellie Browning, head of cultural programme at the venue, outlined the event’s significance, noting the building’s role in bringing communities together across different eras as a music hall, boxing venue, and arts space.
The anniversary gathering represents both a celebration of the institution’s history and recognition of the artists who have contributed to its development.
