A well-established restaurant in Borough Market renowned for its weekend roast dinners is expanding with a second location in east London.
Roast will unveil its Shoreditch venue this October within Virgin Hotels London on Curtain Road.
The latest establishment, spanning 135 covers and bearing the name Roast Shoreditch, will provide round-the-clock dining options encompassing morning meals, midday offerings, afternoon refreshments, and evening fare alongside the signature Sunday dinners.
The original venue commenced operations above the Floral Hall at Borough Market in 2005 and has built its reputation on British seasonal cuisine sourced from domestic agricultural producers, cultivators, and specialist suppliers.
Patrons in east London can anticipate familiar favourites from the original menu alongside original creations developed specifically for the Shoreditch branch.
A carefully selected wine programme and cocktails prepared by skilled bartenders will complement the food offering.
The interior design will reflect east London character through a Victorian-style urban conservatory featuring ornamental ironwork, botanical motifs, living plants, alongside wood, stone, metal fixtures, and vintage mirrors to establish an inviting atmosphere.
A Harlequin motif incorporated into the design pays tribute to the Curtain Road location, named after The Curtain, a theatre from the Elizabethan era where William Shakespeare performed and debuted works including Henry V.
Marc Bevan, chief executive of Roast, commented that establishing a second restaurant represents a significant achievement for the enterprise.
He noted that Shoreditch represents a fitting progression for the brand, describing it as a district with its own deep-rooted traditions of commerce, craft, and artistic endeavour that correspond with their ethos.
He emphasised that from the venue’s aesthetic to the cuisine, every element has been conceived to honour seasonal produce, artisanal skill, and the outstanding quality of British ingredients.
The team looks forward to receiving both neighbourhood residents and hotel visitors when the venue launches in October.
Reservations for Roast Shoreditch are now being accepted.
