Hackney girl creates kindness book after bullying over skin tone

A nine-year-old from Hackney has channelled her own experiences of harassment into a creative project aimed at young readers.

Stefania Skorzewski developed the 72-page LONDI Kindness Colouring & Activity Book following bullying she faced related to the colour of her skin.

Her father, Rafal Skorzewski, assisted in bringing the publication to completion, which was released on August 24, 2026.

The publication targets children between four and eight years old, incorporating colouring exercises, puzzle challenges and interactive games.

Central to the work is LONDI, a character inspired by a red telephone box that symbolises the diversity of London.

Through this figure, readers encounter concepts of peace, compassion, open-mindedness and acceptance.

Rafal Skorzewski explained that the publication represents one element of a broader effort to embed compassion and belonging in children from an early age.

The family views early intervention as crucial in preventing mistreatment and fostering environments where all children feel valued.

Stefania expressed a desire to create something entertaining that equips young people with tools for practising kindness.

The book operates independently of screens and has been designed with accessibility in mind for families who communicate in languages other than English at home.

Stefania previously outlined her concept for LONDI at a HelpBnk event supported by Virgin StartUp when she was eight years old.

Richard Branson responded to her pitch through a video message shared on social media, describing her mission as admirable and praising her courage in addressing meaningful topics.

An official launch event is scheduled for October 29 at Urban MBA in the N1 area of the capital.

During the gathering, Stefania will share insights into the project’s origins and discuss the publication’s objectives with attendees.

The family anticipates the work will encourage dialogue about compassion and community belonging, particularly in connection with Anti-Bullying Week observed during November.

Copies of the LONDI Kindness Colouring and Activity Book can be purchased through online retail platforms.
