North London school warns of capital’s colour gang rivalry

An Islington secondary school has warned parents about a spreading Red vs Blue school conflict trend that has prompted worries about coordinated student violence.

London Now reports that Beacon High sent an emergency letter to caregivers on February 23 about a hazardous TikTok trend dubbed North London War.

The campaign is aimed at pupils in Years 7 to 11 and encourages planned altercations between students from different local schools.

The letter describes how the material divides participants into Red and Blue factions and encourages viewers to track down, assault, and film students from opposing schools for online sharing and points.

The school was unambiguous in its communication, stating that the trend represents a deliberate attempt to coordinate physical harm within the community and is neither a joke nor harmless banter.

The school identified particular dates for planned rounds, with one scheduled for February 27 and others on March 2, March 4, March 5, and March 6.

With students returning to lessons, Beacon High is intensifying strict security measures to safeguard pupils.

Parents received guidance that children should avoid bringing compasses, metal combs, or rulers unless needed for closely monitored lessons, since everyday items are being promoted as weapons in this challenge.

The warning follows the appearance of similar Red vs Blue material across several London boroughs under titles such as Croydon War and South London Wars, resulting in increased police patrols and school cautions.

In Greenwich, officials have imposed a Section 35 dispersal order valid until 10pm.

The Metropolitan Police disclosed they are monitoring online activity linked to this trend and maintaining dialogue with schools across various districts to reassure the community.

Officers have stressed they will pursue robust action for any reports of violence or disorder and have demanded the removal of social media accounts sharing threats.

Authorities continue to view the circulating content as a potential public order risk rather than confirmed coordinated incidents, though London schools are urging parents to discuss the matter with their children and raise any concerns.
