A pizza venue renowned for its 22-inch creations and vibrant neon decor has secured the title of London’s top casual eatery.

Voodoo Ray’s has been delighting customers with its oversized New York-inspired pies in Dalston since 2012.

The establishment on Kingsland High Street operates late into the night, offering patrons craft beers and frozen margaritas alongside their signature slices.

The venue has now been crowned the capital’s premier casual dining destination by luxury lifestyle platform Muddy Stilettos.

The publication’s 13th annual awards attracted votes from half a million readers across shortlisted categories nationwide, encompassing favourite pubs and top restaurants.

The initiative aims to highlight independent enterprises, with Voodoo Ray’s emerging victorious in the London casual dining category from a list of nominees including Da Mario in South Kensington, Napoli on the Road in Chiswick, Paradiso Burger in Soho, and Santa Maria pizzeria in Ealing.

The restaurant offers pizzas available as individual slices or complete pies, with standout choices comprising the Hot Ananas featuring pepperoni, spicy honey, jalapeños, and pineapple, Ray’s Margherita, and the Devil’s Lettuce vegetarian option prepared with lime and garlic ricotta, a baked green sauce swirl, fior di latte mozzarella, pecorino, spinach and a hint of lemon.

The decor showcases an aesthetic inspired by the 1980s, complete with striking colours, illuminated signs and reclaimed timber. Visitors can soak up the atmosphere alongside their slices and beverages until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
