Sampling a punchy Mediterranean meal delivery: one course was unforgettable

Published on

A Mediterranean meal delivery service has made its debut in the United Kingdom, opening three kitchen sites across London in locations such as Kentish Town, Shoreditch and Nine Elms.

Rōti Modern Mediterranean, described as a fast-casual American brand, has chosen north and east London alongside the Nine Elms area for its inaugural overseas operation.

The eatery focuses on bold Mediterranean tastes, premium quality, fresh produce and personalised create-your-own bowl options available through the Uber Eats platform.

Dishes arrive accompanied by sauces from the establishment. Prices for sharing feasts suitable for couples, families or larger gatherings range from £22 up to £70, while individual wraps and bowls are also available.

Our testing revealed both flavour and nutritional appeal. The spread we received proved ideal for sharing among pleased colleagues, featuring abundant fresh salads that proved popular with plant-based diners and gym-goers.

Alongside fragrant saffron rice and warm pitta breads sat a bowl of smooth hummus that several team members declared the finest they had ever tasted.

Vegetarians enjoyed golden, crispy falafel alongside a satisfying chickpea salad, sumac-dressed tomatoes, shredded red cabbage, grated carrots with curry seasoning, herb-flavoured roasted vegetables and pickled onions.

For those preferring meat, two chicken varieties were offered for pitta fillings – one coated in spicy honey harissa and another seasoned with za’atar featuring garlic and lemon notes.

Both proved excellent, while signature sauces and accompaniments proved perfect for adding layers to bowls of vegetables and protein. The range includes a yoghurt-based dip, a garlic sauce and the Roti Spice blend for those seeking extra heat.

The bowl selections overflow with various salads and proteins such as steak, colourful mezze vegetables, salmon with kale and grilled prawns.

Our assessment concludes that Rōti Modern Mediterranean offers excellent value, providing a handy, crowd-friendly and nutritious choice when inspiration or time for cooking runs short.

Ideal for groups but equally suitable for solo ordering. Further growth across Britain could follow depending on how the London launch performs. Orders can be placed via Uber Eats.
