Harry Redknapp has revealed that taking part in the ITV reality show transformed his existence ahead of his comeback appearance. The ex-football manager, who secured the championship title in the Australian jungle back in 2018, expressed enthusiasm about rejoining the programme and commented that they would undoubtedly enjoy themselves. The veteran coach characterised his earlier stint on the programme as tremendous and discussed how it significantly impacted his circumstances as he prepared for a delayed entry into the celebrity camp.

During a conversation about his experience on the popular television series, Redknapp stated that he thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it. He explained that upon exiting the jungle initially, he was unaware of the show’s massive popularity and the vast audiences tuning in. Instead of conversations previously dominated by men discussing the sport, children were suddenly approaching him about the programme. He clarified that while the experience did not alter his fundamental character, it certainly transformed his professional and personal trajectory. The 79-year-old noted that he subsequently experienced increased demand for his time and found himself undertaking activities he would never have anticipated, including theatrical work and commercial campaigns.

The former Tottenham manager expressed anticipation about reuniting with hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, describing them as wonderful presenters and recalling his previous participation as an overwhelmingly positive encounter. He particularly enjoyed connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and professions.

Redknapp is set to make his return to the programme next week alongside former footballer Jimmy Bullard, who similarly attested that his inaugural appearance in 2014 proved transformative. The 47-year-old remarked that numerous families had approached him since the broadcast to share that they had watched the show together. Previously, he noted, interactions had predominantly been with male supporters due to his sporting background. Bullard expressed doubt that he would have secured certain professional opportunities without the reality programme, affirming that his life improved considerably following his participation.
